Information on population structure of the blue shrimp (Penaeus stylirostris) in Costa Rica could not be found. This species is captured mainly in the Gulf of Nicoya, in a multi-species fishery together with Western white shrimp (P. occidentalis), Whiteleg shrimp (P. vannamei ) and Southern white shrimp (P. schmitti), and catches are reported combined as "camarón blanco" (Mar Viva 2012; INCOPESCA 2017).
