Ocean Whitefish (Caulolatilus princeps) is an endemic species to the Eastern Pacific and is an important fishery for the communities in northwest of Mexico. It is found in rocky reefs from Vancouver Island, Canda to central Peru, including the Gulf of California and all the oceanic islands except Clipperton Islands (Dooley 1978)(Fischer 1995). No information about stock identity has been found, and no stock assessment is conducted in the northwest of Mexico.
