SUMMARY

SUMMARY

IDENTIFICATION

SCIENTIFIC NAME(s)

Centropomus viridis

SPECIES NAME(s)

White snook

White snook was one of the three species from the eastern central Pacific studied by (Díaz-Jaimes et al. 2007) to understand the population structure and genetic variability. Some divergence was found but coincident with the sampling spots thus the authors recommended further studies to deepen the knowledge on this regard. In lack of an assessment unit, a management unit in Mexico is considered. The main fishing areas (map below) are localized in Marismas Nacionales (Nayarit) and South of Sinaloa (Mexican Pacific coast) (Hernández et al. 2013)
