3. FIP Implementation	Apr 23	FIP activities undertaken 1 April 2023 — Gear inspections continue to be conducted on a regular basis; recent gear inspections were conducted prior to the 2023 season across the fleet. 1 April 2023 — The technical report of the 2022 fishing season closure has been made available; while both the blue and brown shrimp exhibited below-average maturity and spawning, the blue shrimp had a slight increase in spawning in February 2023. 1 April 2023 — An ETP and bycatch outreach workshop was held for coastal fishermen; attendees were taught how to properly use fishing gear to mitigate impact. 1 April 2023 — An analysis of the FIP's data collection efforts was conducted; the analysis determined that a fishery-dependent and fishery-independent data collection protocol is in place and the protocol has been updated. 1 October 2022 — Gear inspections were conducted prior the beginning of the season by INAPESCA and CONAPESCA. 24 August 2022 — Several meetings have been held prior to the start of the 2022 fishing season to ensure full compliance with fishery regulations by the supply chain. 4. Improvements in Fishing Practices and Fishery Management	Oct 23	Verifiable improvement in policy/management and fishing practices 1 October 2023 — Increase to PI 2.2.3 & 2.3.3; The FIP performed a fishery impact analysis identifying secondary species and impact to ETP species. Secondary species were identified as fish, crustaceans, mollusks, and echinoderms. Among these, fish were identified as the most abundant group. No interactions with sea turtles or marine mammals were recorded. 6 October 2022 — Increase to PIs 1.2.3, 1.2.4 & 2.2.2; technical report has been published that identifies new information with regard to the harvest strategy, secondary species management strategy, monitoring process and stock structure and productivity. 1 July 2017 — Data analysis completed - concluding that shrimp:bycatch ratio is 1:1. Eight species have high abundance in by catch, none reported at risk by IUCN. 1 March 2015 — Season 2014-15 closure 1 September 2013 — INAPESCA trained producers on the correct use of Magdalena I and Baja California Sur State Government financed the fishing gear adaptation to the Magdalena I requirements 22 February 2013 — Shrimp management plan is finalized and released.
