The FIP has gone inactive at the FIP's request. This FIP has been paused until this fishery resumes and improvements can continue to be implemented.

FIP Implementation	Feb 22	FIP activities undertaken 28 February 2022 — Progress continues to be made on the population assessment of the fishery for the 2021-2022 season, shared by INAPESCA to the National Committee of giant squid. 21 February 2021 — Virtual meeting held to discuss a review of score indicators 1 November 2020 — A diagnosis of the legal-administrative problems within the fishing activity was conducted to determine its magnitude, as well as the omissions, and repercussions/ consequences. 1 September 2020 — The study that began in 2019 of the effect of giant squid fishery on the ecosystem has been completed and published 24 March 2020 — Progress has been made on the population assessment of the fishery for the 2019-2020 season, shared by INAPESCA to the National Committee of giant squid. 1 November 2019 — preliminary results of the ECOPATH analysis published showing little impct of fishery on the ecosystem - this report would support an increase in information score on the fishery 9 March 2019 — INAPESCA has maintained open access to information on the population assessments of jumbo squid through the annual technical reports. 20 December 2018 — Law enforcement along with the squid fishing sector and governmental stakeholders 1 August 2018 — Map was made of the actors that would make up the biological and technological subcommittee, belonging to the National Committee of the squid resource. 7 May 2018 — Two fishing monitoring workshops were completed in two historically imposing locations for the squid resource in May and August 2018 28 February 2018 — Letter sent to INAPESCA to request relevant information on the sustainability schemes in order to explore improvement possibilities.
4. Improvements in Fishing Practices and Fishery Management	Jun 21	Verifiable improvement in policy/management and fishing practices 14 June 2021 — Increase in PI 3.2.3; fishermen are in compliance with the management and evaluation system 27 March 2020 — MSC PI score 2.5.2 increase -There are established measures that take into account the impact of the UoA on the key elements of the ecosystem.
