Improvements in Fishing Practices and Fishery Management	May 22	Verifiable improvement in policy/management and fishing practices 24 May 2022 — DFO has made the Conservation Harvesting Plan 2022-2023 available for the 3PS fishery 28 April 2022 — Fish Stock provisions under the Fisheries Act have come into force which places binding obligations on Fisheries and Oceans Canada to manage certain fish stocks sustainably, and to put rebuilding plans in place when stocks become depleted. 18 September 2020 — Increase in BMT score 2.3.3; Based on the very few observed harvester interactions (and mandatory release for broadhead and spotted wolffish), it is very likely the overall risk from the fixed gear fisheries is very low. 18 September 2020 — Increase in BMT score 2.3.3; The bycatch data for UoCs 1, 2 and 3 are representative of each component of the 3Ps cod fishery as a whole. 18 September 2020 — Increase in BMT score 2.1.3; The volumes of herring bait used likely meet the MSC requirements for consideration as a main (5%) primary species.
