FIP Implementation	Jun 24	FIP activities undertaken 1 June 2024 — An agreement was signed between INIDEP and the Secretary of Fisheries of Chubut establishing access to biological fishery information. 1 June 2024 — A technical report on monitoring activities has been made available; the report highlights that six vessels over 30 fishing days were monitored, with consistent fishing depths, low discard rates, and minimal marine mammal interactions reported. 30 May 2024 — The Federal Fisheries Council held their first meeting in 2024, where CAPECA and CAPIP presented proposals on aspects to be considered in the Shrimp Management Plan. 20 March 2024 — The FIP sent a letter to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife that included a review of the Argentinian red shrimp fishery documents ODFW provided the FIP in March; the letter included feedback on positive aspects and improvements to consider. 15 December 2023 — The FIP held a meeting to discuss the status and progress made concerning the shrimp stock; the FIP plans on incorporating the shaffer model into the next stock assessment in an effort to determine a more precise TAC. 1 December 2023 — The Chubut Secretariat continues to consistently implement the harvest control rule established in Resolution N° 06/2019, evident in Resolution N° 526-2023, which mandates a pre-season survey to monitor relevant parameters. 1 December 2023 — An observer data report has been published for the 2022-2023 onboard observer season 14 September 2023 — A virtual meeting was held to discuss FIP progress with the future Secretary of Fisheries of Chubut and other officials. CeDePesca presented the importance of eco-labeling and highlighted the need for data collaboration from the Secretary of Fisheries. 13 May 2023 — The Fisheries Secretariat met with INIDEP authorities to evaluate current management outcomes and plan future collaborative efforts. 3 May 2023 — The Red Shrimp Commission held a follow-up meeting in May 2023; the commission discussed landings and the biological situation of the red shrimp fishery and preliminary results of the last season, hake bycatch in the red shrimp fishery and red shrimp bycatch in the hake fishery. 1 December 2022 — An observer data report has been published for the 2021-2022 onboard observer season 1 December 2022 — A CSA analysis has been conducted for 2018-2022; the coastal margin and internal platform analysis units would face low impact by the fishery. 23 November 2022 — Resolution N° 519/2022 issued, opening the 2022-2023 season 22 July 2022 — Resolution Nº 177/2022 issued which authorizes INIDEP to carry out a red shrimp campaign in Chubut 19 April 2022 — CeDePesca has been in coordination with the National Director of Fisheries Coordination and Control to authorize observer participation for the 2022 season 18 April 2022 — Technical report N° 34/2022 produced; comparison between the 2017 to 2022 summer seasons showed that there are no significant differences in estimates of red shrimp density and number between 2022 and 2021 25 March 2022 — Technical Reports N° 3/2022 and N° 4/2022 have been published; it is recommended that the shrimp fishing season close in Patagonia for 2021-2022. 29 November 2021 — Resolution N° 491/2021 and N° 411/2021 have been reissued by the government authorizing the red shrimp survey and the opening of the fishing season 26 November 2021 — Observer workshop on seabird interactions with coastal fleet was held in Nov 2021. 1 November 2021 — Technical reports published that served as a basis for Resolutions N° 411/2021 & Resolution N° 491/2021 19 November 2020 — On November 1st, fishing started in provincial waters authrorised by Chubut Secretariat of Fisheries 1 March 2020 — In March 2020, INIDEP presented to the Federal Fisheries Council the Research Report N° 011-2020 CPUE standardization of shrimp freezer vessels. 27 November 2019 — The Fisheries Secretariat of Chubut province and the Fisheries Secretariat of San Cruz province submitted a note to National Undersecretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Nation, renewing the annual commitment established in Article 1. 1 June 2019 — The Provincial Onboard Observers Program of Chubut has incorporated design data sheets, including taking data from marine bottoms according to the forms used in the Private Program of Observers on Board coordinated by the National University of Patagonia 28 March 2019 — The Federal Fisheries Council Meeting held a meeting on red shrimp monitoring. 1 March 2019 — The CSA identified the unit of analysis defined as Platform biome, sub-biome of Internal Platform, characterized by sediment plains. In Consequences component, four of the seven attributes related to habitat productivity and susceptibility indicated risks tall; two, medium risks and one, low risk. In the Spatial component, two of the three attributes related to the interaction between fishing gear and habitat indicated high risks, and one indicated low risk. 1 July 2018 — The FIP is working on digitizing fishing logbooks for the period 2014-2017. 1 January 2018 — in January 2018, the Secretariat of Fisheries of the province of Chubut signed an agreement with CeDePesca to collaborate in the FIP. Improvements in Fishing Practices and Fishery Management	Mar 24	Verifiable improvement in policy/management and fishing practices 26 March 2024 — Resolution 118/2024 has been issued which establishes a Shrimp Fishery Monitoring Commission that will meet quarterly and will regularly evaluate the provincial management system. 28 November 2023 — Increase to PI score 3.2.4; The FIP is conducting second management performance reviews and the Office of the National General Auditor now instituted as a regular audit. As a result, PI 3.2.4 would now comply with SG80b 3 May 2023 — Technical Report 4/2023 was published, analyzing catch during the November-March 2023 season. Incidental catch of birds and mammals, primarily sea lions, were reported, while no incidental catch of turtles or dolphins were observed. 9 June 2022 — Federal Fisheries Council issued Resolution No. 9/2022; the resolution establishes several new and updated management measures for the fishery 25 March 2022 — Resolution N° 63/2022 issued closing out the 2021-2022 red shrimp fishing season and concluding the 2021-2022 onboard observer program 1 November 2021 — Chubut Fisheries Secretariat has published two techincal reports for the first time (a change in practice) which have been used as a basis for Resolutions N° 491/2021 & N° 411/2021 1 June 2019 — Increase in MSC PI 2.2.2 score - The Federal Fisheries Council decided to create a Work Commission to strengthen measures to reduce the bycatch. 1 June 2019 — Increase in MSC PI score 2.1.2 - Review of alternative measures increasing the knowledge base on primary species. 1 June 2019 — Resolution No. 6/2019 of Secretariat of Fisheries (Chubut) establishes that to keep the area open in each red shrimp season, the bycatch must not exceed 15% of total catch. 26 December 2018 — MSC PI 2.4.3 improved, Risk analysis for the habitat – CSA method was published. The fishery represents a low risk of negative impacts on the coastal margin and medium risk to the intermediate platform. 17 May 2018 — The Federal Fisheries Council issued the Resolution No. 7/2018, which establishes the management measures for the red shrimp fishery 1 February 2018 — FIP partners have decided to implement the private Onboard Observers Program for a third consecutive fishing season. 1 October 2017 — Based on the observer data collected in the 2016-2017 season, the analysis was conducted and completed. 7 September 2017 — Council convened the third meeting of the Commission for the Follow-Up of the Argentine red shrimp fishery 1 June 2017 — The Fisheries Federal Council has granted Chubut and Santa Cruz an extra quota in exchange for the provinces setting fishing closure zones in the San Jorge Gulf in 2017. 1 September 2016 — Disposition N° 78- E/2016 mandating that Argentine red shrimp is included under the catch certificate program as of November 1st, 2016 1 September 2016 — Chubut has agreed to require federal authorities to design a long-term Management Plan for Red Shrimp. 1 January 2016 — The Onboard Observers Program has officially started
