This fishery has been certified by the Marine Stewardship Council system since May 2010, as part of Alaska flatfish (MSC 2022). Arrowtooth flounder (Atheresthes stomias) are assessed and managed as a single unit in the Gulf of Alaska (NOAA, 2022) and this stock is assessed on a biennial schedule, with partial assessments in the off-cycle years. Full stock assessments update projection model results to recommend harvest levels for the next 2 years.
