This species is distributed in the Eastern Pacific, from Nicaragua to Chile (Froese and Pauly 2023). No information about the stock structure has been found. In Peru, the fishery is monitored and assessed by IMARPE on a yearly basis (IMARPE 2022) and the fishery is managed on a provisional quota regime by the Ministry of Production of Peru (PRODUCE 2021).
