Common dolphinfish, Mahi-mahi
Common dolphinfish in the international trade is known as mahi-mahi. This species is bycatch of several fisheries such as those targeting neritic tuna and skipjack using purse seine, pole and line, handline and longline (Chodrijah and Nugroho 2017) (Hartaty and Amalia C 2015). Mahi-mahi are oceanic, highly migratory, and geographically exist in tropical and subtropical waters (Froese and Pauly 2019). It is one of the most important species in artisanal fisheries around the world.
