This fishery profile reflects our current knowledge about the fishery based on the publicly available information we had access to so far; we have however detected several inconsistencies among those sources which are particularly evident with regard to biological and fishing mortality reference points, fact that, in turn, confers high uncertainty to the harvest control rules thresholds in place (check “Managers’ Decisions”, “Reference points” and “Current Status” sections for details). In light with this uncertainty all assumptions made when presenting data or computing scores are comprehensively noted.

Alaska pollock on the Sea of Okhotsk, Russia, is regarded as one single population to the North of 50ºN (e.g., Zverkova, 1981; Zverkova et al., 2003; Shuntov et al. 2007)spanning through three different management sub-areas: North Okhotsk (sub-area 4), West Kamchatka (sub-area 5) and Kamchatka-Kuril (sub-area 6).
