The council identified a need to undertake a benchmark process to develop a new modelling framework for this stock 15 October 2020 — Perreault et al 's "A state-space stock assessment model for American Plaice on the Grand Bank of Newfoundland" was published in October 2020 in the Journal of Northwest Atlantic Fishery Science 1 March 2020 — Scientific analysis of state-space models underway with results, referencing other relevant papers. 1 March 2019 — A state-space stock assessment model is under review - analysis of this and comparison to the NAFO assessment model to be presented at the NAFO Scientific Council meeting in June 2020 18 October 2016 — Fishery Improvement Working Group Meeting - with DFO Science and Management representatives 29 April 2015 — FIP activities are ongoing

(DFO, 2017). 18 October 2016 — Improved management and decisions to move the fishing grounds to reduce by catch in the yellowtail fishery leading to aid recovery of plaice stock 14 October 2016 — A report of the current and historical footprint of the 3LNO American plaice fisheries (1990-92, 2013-15) was produced by Michel Comeau of Spatial Analysis, Ottawa, ON in October 2016. 1 July 2016 — Improving catch verification/estimation system
